How long did it take you to get an elo of 1000 in chess.

took me, idk, 8 months maybe? I'm slow

Lots of variables. Have fun and then who cares what your rating is. And if you are having fun, you play more and immerse yourself in the chess world...at least that is what I am finding.

But I do hate to lose.

Is checkmating a 1100 bot with 3-4 days experience good?

Avatar of Ssplunch

Uhm... the number 499 is pretty close to 1000 so can I join the club??

PresentColony is now in the 1600s rapid!

As of right now, I'm still not 1000 elo,, not even close, but in some of my games chess.com tells me I play like higher than a 1000 elo (record highest as of now is 1800 against Joey Votto Bot) so does that count? 💀

@JameLicar I like the chess game review rating too, because it gives me an ego boost. But I’m afraid it has absolutely no value. It just adds on or takes off a couple hundred points from your current rating depending on if you played alright or not. Also, bot ratings are severely exaggerated (they are too high).

So the rating that game review gives you isn't accurate? I guess I'm not so great then. If that's not the case then I still beat the Joey Votto bot with him having an estimated elo of 1650 (from the game review)

OP is now 1600

Good Ending

i was playing in my chess club for a year before i did a tournament. it took about 5 tournaments to get above 1000 rated.

for online chess i've never been below 2000 bc i didn't start playing until recently xD

Avatar of JameLicar

I've been playing chess for about 3 months now and I haven't gotten any better at it than when I started.

Im just giving my 2 cents here. I have atleast 50 emails on file for people cheating. Ive concluded between 10% -30% of opponents cheat on any given day. Ive actually learned how to see it . How to catch it. Now I can see when someones partially cheating. The point is, If i have that many emails from chess dot com , than atleast tripple the ammount cheated and got away with it. You can not use your online rating as your true chess knowledge. No WAY!!!!

I think if you play higher rated opponents often and actually train towards your rating you can use your online rating as your true chess knowledge.

Where did you get triple from? Sounds like you're just making up stats lol.
