The knight's tour exercise is supposed to help with visualisation.

There is a reason why most beginners fear Knights. That is because they are very tricky and they deserve your full respect. Knights are unlike any other chess piece. They can do an octopus imitation by forking the whole royal family and estate including King, Queen and Rooks all at once. Knowing the characteristics and strategies of the Knight will better allow you to see these potential threats in the position. Knight is best on chess board, just mind this always.

Yes, knights are too dangerous at the beginner level.
I right now practicing knight outpost tactics in puzzle training. Getting bewildered here and there
I just don't get those deep knight move. Here is mate in 3 rated 2450 puzzle

If you're familiar with common rook and Knight mating patterns, it becomes easier.

I actually don't solve tactics in this method actually because the final position is difficult to visualize. I actually follow my own method which works pretty fine till 2500 puzzle. This one I got astray because my mind was trying to conquer it in a geometric pattern which was not my bread and butter.
