how to dislodge a defensive King on his back row?

I was dominating the centre of the board the entire game but my opponent basically hunkered down in his back row with his queen and two rooks. I still had a queen, two rooms and a bishop but I couldn't break his defence without losing the exchange. What's some good general advice to try doing to an opponent that's so hunkered down like this?
