I have ADHD but I hit 1800 elo on my other account in less than a year starting from 200 elo. So don't blame ADHD. It's either A: You're not intellectually equipped to play chess. Or B: You don't put in enough effort.

ADHD is on a spectrum, different people with ADHD have different challenges and skillsets relating to their ADHD. It's not a one shape for all. You can't claim because others with ADHD do well that it isn't to blame, that is entirely untrue and lacking understanding of what ADHD is and how it is across the spectrum.

Instead of feeding trolls, you should report them. The same user also poisoned this thread.

Can you read?

Or does your mother have to buy you audio cassette tapes of Hooked on Phonics?

Hooked on Phonics was released in 1987. Get off the computer grandpa. I'm honestly surprised you know how to use a computer.

It is very ironic how you were against him calling others stupid and are continuing to throw out insults, and especially regarding his age, which you’re unsure of.

You were muted for continuing to respond angrily at a user just 4 days ago, thus why you made this account. Surely you learned something from that.

Do better, and keep your emotions in check. It’s extremely easy to walk away and not respond.

I was called in on the radio. I had to suit up and do my part as the community forum police to make sure that everyone and everything was in check. All seems to be ok now.

Until next time…

These last couple of pages are why some people shouldn't play chess. Unless I have it backwards. My question (to anyone) is does chess bring out this sort of behavior or are people with this type of behavior attracted to chess?

For alot of people it seems symbiotic.

if this was a scholastic (read elementary or maybe early middled school) player who "playing for years " amounted to 2 years at his kiddy chess club, being stuck at 400 rapid would make perfect sense.
This is in his own words a player who has tried for years. All the common wisdom of what you need to do to improve is out the window here. Something simply isnt connecting.
And it seems we got our answer by self-admission, a combination of autism (which alone doesnt cut it i am as aspie weirdo as they get) as well as a learning disability And medicated for anxiety and anger. that is 99% the issue here, you are playing anxious and in meperpetual medically induced , brain fog you cant see headlights much less a mate in 3 in that state.

@darkunorthodox88 Chess doesn't correlate to your intelligence/self-worth, in fact, IN FACT, I know a person that has 120 IQ and struggles climb the rating ladder at chess, and another person who has 110 IQ and is a Chess Master. (Bottom of the line here is: Intelligence/stuff outside of chess MAY or MAY NOT influence your perfomance in chess. If you scored high grades in school, and thought you were Einstein or Da Vinci, then see if you automatically become high-rated in chess. Beware: "You might find that the truth hurts!" - GM Ben Finegold). Please stop underestemating people, and instead try to offer help like the long comment I made detailing 2 of my games that I showcased in order to explain things related to beginners. In that comment, I was CLEARLY offering GOOD help and making the situation better. So please, try to act as positively as possible and try to step on our shoes (us beginners) instead of saying: "Y0u cAn't Impr0ve" or "ClEarly S0mething is wr0ng with your BrAin, there's N0 way y0u're still 400 after s0 L0ng". (Again, no offense, but, I'm just saying, the best you can do is offer help, LIKE I DID earlier).

idk what the most polite way to say you have zero clue on what you are talking about so i will instead put it bluntly
stop feeding the poor guy delusions.

@darkunorthodox88 That's all you have to say responding to my long comment?!? This is not feeding, this is me being honest and helping him because I like to help people improve and point out things that could help them! I went and did all the trouble of picking 2 great examples from my games and tried to help him, he thanked me for it (it was a good idea so now I see the fruits of my labor) and you still come here, to NOT help him (which is what this forum is about) but to ALSO make things worse. It's not delusional to think you CAN improve at chess. And you? (You say: "2 years with0ut impr0ving doesn't make sense") NO NO. I said earlier that Ben Finegold took 5 years since the age of 5 to finally climb the rating ladder and actually finally see the fruits of his labor, he finally received the prize for his hard-earned work! I don't understand what you're trying to say. Did you become an IM in like a year and thought you were Einstein and that you could put down others just because? (I'm just debunking your wrongful thoughts, no offense though). That's like the third time I had to say that lol.

@darkunorthodox88 When people struggle to get better at chess, it's because it hasn't clicked for them yet, one day, everything will click, it will make sense, and you'll see the fruits of your labor, you'll see the prize of your hard-earned work. One example I can give is when fighting Nightmare King Grimm in Hollow Knight. Some players get stuck a bit on this boss and die in the first 30 seconds without progress, until something clicks inside of them and they finally see themselves making progress and FINALLY, you'll beat it. You'll see the fruits of your hard work. It'll pay off in the end. Chess is about perseverance and learning, just like Hollow Knight is.
