I think I'm improving, though my elo isn't going up much.

So I started winning a few games, but I was super excited to have a game with an 88% with no blunders and a checkmate win. thought that was pretty cool. still hanging around 600 elo but hoping that will start to climb. watched Chessbrah on YouTube and something he said just clicked with me.. weird how things happen.

4)

If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.

  1. Here are some other general tips to help you: Before each move, I highly encourage you ask questions before every move such as, “If I move here, is it safe?”, “Can I safely capture a piece?”, and more. Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Be VERY CONSISTENT with this.

I hope that this helps!

@Atachess68 I watched a few vids on YouTube by ChessBrah and his explanation about center board control just made sense. I always heard people say control the center of the board but I didn't know how to do it. I always ended up getting my knights in trouble and losing them by moving them along the edges of the board and not minding the center of the board. I still have some trouble playing black for that reason but I have a much better handle on center control playing white.
