I’m bad in middle game
Help
Middlegame is where most chess players struggle compared to endgame and opening. The endgame is foundational, but many players study this and find it easier to navigate with less pieces to keep track of. The opening is probably studied the least, but it’s also the most forgiving stage of the chess game because if you make an error here, then you have the entire rest of the game for the opponent to potentially blunder back; not to mention, many players just navigate this stage of the game more on opening principles instead of opening theory memorization:

The middlegame can be complex… and part of the problem is just how many types of positions the middlegame can have. Most recommend just solving lots of chess tactics puzzles and this can help a lot for building valuable pattern recognition, but this eventually gets diminishing returns. The “key” to endgames is mostly pawn structure and understanding positional nuances like weak squares, but this is really advanced stuff. At least 1600 chess.com rapid level and most of it is really more like 2000+ rating, but luckily, you don’t have to have middlegames mastered… just knowing it better than your opponents.
For a simple introduction into weak squares, I explain it in this video of mine: https://youtu.be/Dz9T5PkfYMw?si=GnFibaoZOHT0bVTo
This concept can become much more advanced, but here’s a more intermediate overlapping of that same concept into another positional concept: https://youtu.be/4h0piKAp7IU?si=080t4wMD3HbZCLLl
To learn how to play the middlegame you should watch how masters play. You can read a book like logical chess move by move, or watch videos like Danya's speedrun series on youtube. You should also study Morphy's games
Try other openings until you find one with white and black that you prefer. With white i prefer Italian game, black i push Scandinavian. They both are b
*bit faster pace where turtling has me giving up a fork which leads to me wasting time trying to solve defensive puzzles. Then once you get to a point you're plus 3 with your opponent pawns in disarray start setting up trades and looking for forks and skeweres
You should have children because you're ridiculously good at dad jokes
(this itself is a joke obviously, do whatever you want)
To improve your middlegame, always evaluate king safety first and attack if the enemy king is stuck in the center. Next, identify your worst, inactive piece and spend a few moves maneuvering it to a better square. Then, use the pawn structure to guide your plan by pushing pawns to open up lines for your rooks and bishops. Finally, constantly scan the board for unprotected enemy pieces and look for tactical pins, forks, or skewers.
