just taking off some steam.

Hey guys, Just wanted to take of some steam, being two months on 1000-1100, started 5 months ago. While on lichess I am 1300, and the game are far more easier. Not that I want an easy game but sometimes I feel I am playing against human engines. Anyways I guess frustration is part of the game.

Not impressed... I'm 1200 - 1250 and I've played for more than 3 years (with long breaks). I've studied some books, went through tutorials, now I regulary solve puzzles etc... All this work to reach a lousy 1200 grin.png. But I am most likely very close to the limit of my natural chess abilities anyway. While I was still improving I was very angry and sad after each loss. But at least this part I was able to improve. Now I can loose several times in a row without ever uninstalling the app grin.png.

Does it exist though? "natural chess abilities". A very limiting thing to say, although, who knows

It's limiting if you use it as an excuse to not try. But if you keep trying and result doesn't follow... it just leads me to this conclusion (in my case at least...) happy.png

This place is not conducive to getting better at chess by playing. Lessons and exercises are fine, but frustration at lower rating bands is far more prevalent than in other sites. Also, progress is much slower. I seriously suggest that people don't play for rating here, unless they are well above beginner level...

1. Lichess ratings are higher than chess.com ratings, so the discrepancy is quite normal.

2. Don't get obsessed about ratings, just focus on improving and having fun.

3. Don't get obsessed about cheating, or you'll never be able to enjoy an online game.. It happens to all of us, but usually when you're thinking your opponent he's cheating, most of the time he's not..
