When I am playing chess and start to lose I quit the game and that prevents me from improving my elo rating

My words may not have much weight but you have to play through. Just because your opponent is up on pieces doesnt mean he cant be checkmated.

You could use a counter attack formation.

You must be joking

For beginners, my advice is to not quit unless all your pieces are gone. This way you learn how to recover. Also it’s not guaranteed your opponent will play perfect, unless your opponent is really good, you shouldn’t quit too early.

That's not how it's done. Play it out. Review your errors. Check out the best moves. Avoid repeating errors.

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a respected  chess coach and chess YouTuber based in California:

Sorry to hear you are frustrated.

Here’s some ideas to help you get better.

-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces”   and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.”  Both books are available on Amazon.com.  Both books are endorsed by chess masters!

-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.

-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”. Do this for every single move!

-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.

I also offer 500 two-choice puzzles on my website: https://www.chessbylauren.com/two-choice-puzzles.php

I hope that this helps.

Never quit. Whenever you lose a game analyse it so as to learn from your mistakes.

Try to recover from the position you are.

So many answers, and no one actually bothered to take a look at the guy's games.
