Hello Students,

Today's video covers main ideas of the white's side in the stonewall structure (Dutch defense). Let me know if I should make part 2 where I cover black's main ideas.

White has bishop pair and two pawns for rook but the d4 pawn is isolated and weak and white had not that much attack an he would need some moves to brings his rook to the game but he has two dangerous passed pawns on queenside is the position good for black

After 19. ...Nd5 or ...Rb8 followed by 20. ...Qd7 or ...Qe7, Black's tempo on the queen should be enough to mobilize the rooks towards the queenside. As long as Black keeps an eye on the queenside passed-pawns, Black is the one generating play with h5, Ng4, and using the open lines for the rooks and queens.

The engine agrees and gives -1.3 for Black after 19. ...Nd5 or Rb8! Black definitely has to be precise to not allow the queenside pawns to get rolling, but should have much better piece activity/prospects. Complex and fascinating!!!

Ya that's what i was thinking

Main problem is that White's dark-squared bishop is TERRIBLE... Probably best is Ba3-c5 or at some moment f5!? pawn sacrifice and then Bf4.

Computer says funny 19. ...Ra7 to double on d-file and pressure d4 is okay for Black. Also at the right moment (depending on how White coordinates the pieces), the exchange sac Rxd4 Nxd4 Qxd4 with Ng4 seems VERY INTERESTING; Black sacs exchange to remove White's only active piece and then has Rc8 or Rd8 with lots of pressure (not to mention Bh6).

I like how I literally showed an improvement for white in your line in a different stonewall thread and it just seemed to fly over your head

White gets the advantage with 11.b3! Threatening Ba3 and bxc4. He is solidly better.
