It's pretty ridiculous how many people still fall for this. No one should fall for this. No one should even try to do this because it's pretty disrespectful of how you think of your opponent as someone that falls for this.
People keep falling for the wayward

well I've played many games to this day which follow like this to often so I don't think its disrespectful to try and help out

I actually fell for the wayward queen in a recent game despite ably defending against it numerous times. I did have a headache and was tired, I'm sure if I'd had my A game on I wouldn't have fallen for it.
The trouble I see with this opening is that if Black fends it off, all it does is lose White momentum in the opening.
In the game I lost to it I was more aghast that my opponent played it, rather than wanting a solid game of chess. But he won so....

I just faced a half hearted wayward queen attack.
I only intended to kick his queen not capture it.
This is actually a good example of beginner level stuff. The winner being the person who makes the fewest mistakes and doesn't blunder important pieces.

Fell for it once, I was a complete noob, wouldn't ever fall for it again, haven't seen it since going over 1000. Its just too easy to counter

I am almost 1800 in Rapid and I encounter this opening from time to time when I play beginners in the below 1000 rating range. Do these people really think that 1800s fall for the scholars mate? They always get punished for this and resign soon.

I can't believe I fell for it the other day.
I played 3...Nc6 instead of either g6 or Qe7. I don't know why as I've fought off the attack on a number occasions. As I said I wasn't playing my best.
I'll be darn sure I don't fall for it again.
I checked some of the opponents other recent games to see if he always used it. No, but for some reason he used it against me.

Do not play this.
I see it was you who played it OP, don't play it. It won't help you.
Having had a look at a random selection of OP's recent games, they all include a wayward queen attack.

Yeah. They should stop playing the Wayward.

The wayward is a fine opening for beginners, but over 800s should know how to punish it.
Don't say that.
It is not a good opening and will NOT help you improve.

thanks for the feedback guys I started doing it when I was the victim and now I've basically got a habit to play it I'm going to look with different openings now

All the advice given not to play this when clearly it was good enough for GM Magnus Carlsen to roll it out against GM Leiner Dominguez Perez and GM Shamsiddin Vokhidov. To be firm but fair every chess player needs to know the 1.e4 e5 2.Qh5 line and its refutations for when faced with it as Black, as White roll it out once in a while just don't expect an easy win (Magnus Carlson could only manage a draw and a loss, see above) and don't include it as a part of your regular repertoire as White..
For all of you who have had a queen checkmate you very quickly this should help you. The wayward is a opening that can checkmate your opponent in very little moves if they don't know how to properly respond. When the Queen moves to H5 DO NOT attack the queen with your F pawn as that will allow the queen to take your E5 pawn checking your king and forcing you to block your king with either your bishop or queen. The white queen will then take the rook you exposed with your F pawn and then will wither go on to checkmate you (see the game above for what that could look like) or have the game play out putting you at a massive disadvantage. I am no expert but I hope this helped some of you from making this mistake again.
