Data/game summary says I leave pawns hanging 80%+ of the time. What does “left hanging” mean - unused?
I used to advance my pawns like a screen before I posted here and sought feedback. It was good for pinning opponents in a shrinking amount of space but I discovered (the hard way) that the gap behind the pawns left me very vulnerable.
And so, per the advice of the helpful folks, here, I am trying to play in a new way somehow, keeping pawns back.
*full disclosure: unrelated to this topic but as a public service warning, you will be appalled to discover that when I lose, it comes following epic, EPIC blunders fit for the hall of shame. Very embarrassing stuff, I freely admit.
Also it could be the stat you are looking at means that of all the material you left hanging, 80% were pawns and the remaining 20% were pieces like Knights, Bishops etc.
So I don't think you left pawns hanging 80% of the moves you played (that would be really difficult to do anyway).
