pitted against players higher than you

Hi folks, just wondering if people have the problem of being drawn against players well above your own rating despite setting the game parameters to perhaps only +25? I’ve been onto customer support but they just keep telling me to change game length etc but I keep getting the same outcome, no matter if I pick an open challenge or set a challenge I get drawn against players 100’s above me, it’s really taking the edge off my enjoyment of the game, it’s only recently I’ve had this problem too, I’m drawn against these players within seconds so it’s not that the system is struggling to find players within a certain time scale, it’s almost like it’s ignoring the ratings all together

My guess is that where are not other people at your rating level doing whatever time control you are so it needs to search wider to find you a game. I get lots of games vs people within +100/-100 of me doing 10min. +25/-25 sounds vary restrictive so it might just not be able to find you games. Best bet might be to try a more popular time control.

It’s becoming very tiresome, constantly being pitted against players 100’s above myself, no matter what the settings are are at it just does the same thing…. Players are always outwith the parameters that I set for the game.

Sooooo how do you think you are ever going to improve by not playing those rated at least 100 points higher than you? Happens often in sections otb. Or do you think by playing your equal or less you are going to get better?
