I haven’t played for a while I need a new opening, any ideas? Open to all!

What would you say about this?

Guicco Piano is the beginner opening, as well as the Scotch and the Colle

And if you need to look them up, the Guicco Piano is also known as the Italian Game and the Giuoco Piano.

Where are the actual mates in 500?

The tablebases made it possible to find long mates, prompting people to search for really long ones. The longest I've seen, with the 50-move rule suspended, is a position with White to play and mate in 553.

Italian isn’t simple. Especially when the Moller is played

The Möller Attack should lead to a draw, but I won with it in my chess club's team tournament two weeks ago when my opponent didn't know all the right replies for Black.

Why is nobody asking questions?

Most online players like to play games with music and many forums/articles talk about this topic. My question for you rychessmaster1 is: "Do you listen to music when you play online; furthermore, are there certain songs you like to play during puzzle rush (if you listen to music during online chess)?"

No I do not

Thanks for the response - I'm kind of just thinking of fleeting questions just to keep this forum alive wink.png

What

On the board, it is clearly a check; obviously it is just a glitch in the notation (perhaps from posting from an iphone or some reason like that)

I'm playing From's Gambit in a daily game. Did I dig my own grave? My opponent just played d4 and now I have to exchange my dark square bishop for a knight and then probably trade queens. At this point I'm praying things don't get worse... Are gambits worth it at all? Why do people play that crap anyway instead of good, solid development? *just venting*

If you keep trying them, you may find that some gambits are better than others.

I believe Ruy Marshall, Benko Gambit and Evans Gambit are perfectly sound. I have doubts on Kings Gambit. What's your opinion?

Queens gambit is also sound, Kings Gambit, Danish Gambit, and Budapest gambit are unsound

And the popular Morra Gambit in Sicilian?

BK201YI

What about the anti-Moscow gambit in the semi slav defense? I played it accidentally in a game, had never heard of it before. I won but that was by sheer luck, I guess.
