I am trying to understand why the best move for white for move 23 is Bf5 and then black responds by retreating with Qe7? I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious, but why wouldn't black respond with Qxf5? Am I missing a mate that would happen if black responded on move 23 with Qxf5? Thank you very much for your time and support! [Event "Vs. Computer"] [Site "Chess.com"] [Date "2021-10-08"] [White "Esholton206"] [Black "Nelson"] [Result "*"] 1. e4 e5 2. d3 Qh4 3. Nf3 Qf6 4. I looked at the game, Qxf5 leads to a forced smothered mate, the best kind of mate.
