Rated Bots vs Computer play

Everyone advises against playing vs computer, but they somehow differentiate that from the rated bots. Am I missing something?

I like playing against the bots. at my level its mostly about spotting mistakes and taking advamtage of them, and avoiding blunders. Why arent bots good for practicing that?

I think the Bots are excellent for practising classical chess. Every game is untimed, so you can play a 2hr game if you like.

What ordinary engines do, is to give you the same playing style at nominal level; only weakened by time control.
