Just wondering how the ratings work? I’m around 600. Every time I play someone who is around 600 I lose, usually quickly. And when I play the computer at level 2, which it says is rated at, I think it was 300, I don’t stand a chance. Pretty frustrating for a beginner. So, does anyone know how I can play a game that is around my level?

Ok. Thanks for the reply. I didn’t realize that I was playing blitz/rapid. How do I play a regular game?

All you play is blitz and rapid.  So how are you expecting to improve when youre moving fast?

I agree. Don't play blitz! The shortest time control I'd recommend, if you want to improve, is 15+10 Rapid. That way, you can't win just by making your opponent run out of time (not easily, anyway), so it forces you to win the game, which means you'll soon learn to be careful with your strategy and tactics.

Your opponents average rating is 1330..that is way too high for you....try a +50 or 100 points above you in parameters...
