Have you ever woken up in the morning to an alarm clock, smashed a finger over the “Snooze” Button, then laid in dread awaiting the next obnoxious beep? Clocks aren’t fun; Not when you’re trying to get shut-eye, nor when you’re a competitive chess player.

For those who don’t know, a chess clock is used to time a competition game. After each move, the player hits their respective button that stops their countdown and starts their opponents. If a competitor runs out of time, they automatically lose. Time per game can vary from 3 minutes each to an hour and a half.

i have the exact opposite problem: i take waaaay too much time thinking, and then lose on time sad.png

I played an NM the other day in 3|2 blitz, tried out a new opening, got a completely crushing advantage, and then blew it, when i had under 15 seconds left on the clock. i ended up losing that game on time, sadge.
