Some words of engouragement

I just took part in my first ever FIDE rated open international 9 round tournament and I want to give some words of engouragement to people who are hesitant to participate.

1) Do not be afraid, it is just chess

2) Take your time, it is usually classical chess, you have more time than in rapid chess, use it

3) The ratings are not that different from online ratings, in fact at the moment, my FIDE rating (when published at the end of the month) will be higher than my Finnish national rating, which is higher than my online rating. I know it seems weird to some people, but I benefit from the extra time (look at tip #2) and probably play these serious games with a more serious and focused mindset.

3) Enjoy the atmosphere, make it a holiday, grab a beer, have fun
