To me it was about avoiding 1 move blunders and punish 1 move blunders at 400. No tactic needed.

I'm no teacher and no expert, but my advice would be stop studying, forget everything you've studied, and play the game... over and over and over and over.
Try 5|0. You can cram in a lot of games in one day.

400 elo is probably the OG 1000. Chess has changed A LOT.
