stuck in 1800's blitz. help

You only joined last Friday.

It has not been three months since last Friday.

You barely passed 1800. Your best victory is against an 1812.

Try to stay above 1800.

So how to hike to 2000

I started with 800 and reached 1800 within a week

I think it's best if you stay at 1800 for now. Chess takes time to improve, reaching 2000 is not gonna happen just like that. Improve your chess skills then you'll see the changes in your rating.

Welcome to the 1800 club. Have you undergone the initiation yet?

A couple of things. Just so you are aware, there are about 6.5 Million Members on this site and only about 2-3% are rated higher than 1800 blitz. 

so what you sound like you are asking is - hey guys, I just joined this site days ago, and I seem to be stuck at a rating that puts me in the 98th percentile of all players on this site. 

Any idea on what I can do to improve in the next week or so? 

Okay, now seriously. The things you do to improve at blitz are the same things you do to improve you slower chess. Nakamura did not get good at blitz because he makes really fast moves that are good. He makes really good moves very fast. He makes good moves fast because he spent many many years learning how to make really good moves at slow chess first. That is where everyone learns pattern recognition. 

As you get stronger, you gain the ability to make strong moves faster and faster. 

Many newbies on here think that you can get good at blitz just by playing blitz and staring at your engine analysis. (which you won't likely understand anyway - even though you will convince yourself (no matter what I say) that you do.)

So Tactics, tactics, tactics, then endgames, then strategy, then openings all slow. Then (slowly) speed it all up. You WILL get stronger at blitz. 

but as I said, most people reading this under the age of about 30 will just want to continue playing blitz and watching videos because it is the limit of the attention span these days.

Thanks for the very precise response @morphys-Revenge. I understand that slow chess guides one to the better path . I will try and play more slow chess and see where I stand after that. Very intuitive 

@Togishere. I said that because I used to play in lichess where I was stuck between 1800 - 2000 Blitz . I joined chess.com few days ago.

I’m actually onboard with you on this one OP. I reached 1800 pretty much immediately and reached 1900 without too much more difficulty but getting that last 100 rating points to finally reach 2000 took months. Keep playing lots of blitz, trust the process, and you’ll get there
