Stuck in the rating

I am 582 on rapid currently, and i seem to have been stuck on it. I used to get stuck earlier in similar situations but this is the longest i have been in the same rating range. I only get time to play two games of 15 minutes with 10 second time increment every day, and i always win one and lose the other. It is kind of frustrating lately as i feel like i am not improving (though i am not sure if am improving or not). How to get out of this jam? Any help will be appreciated.

Yes the same thing happened with me I was stuck between 630 and 680 elo and I just recently broke out of that elo range (as you can see), at our elo range its more about making least blunders, I have listed a few suggestions that helped me. 1. Play one 30 min game instead of two 15 min , and utilise that 30 min I have seen many people playing 30 min games but the time the give to each move is same as games with less time 2.learn one opening as black and one as white, if you ask for suggestions I would say the london system as white and kings indian as black would be great to begin with, not only just learn the moves also study the opening (recommend youtube channel is top chess) . There are many other aspects that could be the reason for your problem but these are the most simplest solutions I could give which proved to be effective for me,

I have a few more suggestions I saw your few games and I think you are resigning way too early Just don't give up soon even though you made blinders, you have to remember your opponent is at the same level as you he will also make blunders and be patient Take it as a game if you still find yourself stuck then there are many people in the community who would be happy to teach you a few things for free I am also sending you a friend request so that we could play some games together and maybe I could help you analyse your game (I am not someone who is very good at chess but surely I am here to help any time you need)z and don't think you are alone most of the people face this problem it's very normal.

Good advice. I've still won a few games even after making a bad play early on

In this game, your most recent loss, you lost after 64 moves. This was a 15 | 10 rapid game, which allows you to think about our moves for roughly 24 seconds each move. With your fast-paced decision making you only need 8 seconds to play each move, gaining 2 seconds each time. When you resigned after 64 moves you had 17:19 minutes left on the clock. That’s insane! But also an opportunity.

Because you use only a third of your time, you have two thirds left over to use as you please. It’s up to you how to use it, but these are my suggestions:

  • at this pace you aren't limited any longer to only two 15|10 rapid games per day, you can play up to 6 games per day for more experience.
  • you have the option of spending more time on each move. Your current playing speed is impressive, but playing moves without thinking has a downside. When you don’t take time to understand the position, its harder to find the best move. Especially since you also don’t take the time to consider your opponent's plan.
  • Alternatively you could use the extra time to do a blunder check before playing a move. Supposedly you can achieve significantly better results. I’m not going to oversell it, there’s no guarantee. But what I’ve heard is that players that take time to prevent blunders perform better than players that just wing it like you do.

Anyway, all sarcasm aside. You’re not stuck yet. Your progress graph looks fine and you’ve just started playing. But if you do get stuck, try taking more time each move. Especially for a blunder check. The truth is that almost certainly helps. Good luck!
