There is no right age. When you have become an IM or GM you will have learned enough about chess to be a very good blitz player.
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!mmmm!!??¿?????????¿?¡!¡!¡!
Responses like that won't work in bullet
I am 81 and have played/studied chess since my teens. My Rapid rating is 90th percentile. I play okay in Blitz - around 70th percentile. I'm not very successful at Bullet, but I love playing 2/1, and I sometimes have streaks where I do well - I wouldn't want to say how many Bullet games I have lost on time with an overwhelming advantage, but I just can't make my ancient reflexes make the moves! I love chess and I hope I will still be playing when I pass the century mark.
I would love to play you someday, sir.
Man, whole lotta 2/1 pump chumps who don't have the endurance for rapid. Take your time with those sweet moves. Don't rush and just pound away at the keyboard for a minute, take your time finding that beautiful mate.
RichColorado - do it! expect to have some learning curve. The first couple of months I played Bullet almost every game I lost was a time-out, and some of my draws were too. It has helped my analysis of the board enormously and given me a new appreciation of the clock aspect of all versions of the game.
How can dogs hurt someone by saying "Bullet isn't chess"? (dogs also can't talk)
I need help with just one thing do anybody of you know what age you should stop rapid and do a challenging one like bullet?
chess is for everyone, and because it is everyone it doesn't mean there is a limit playing it. but, it is your decision when to stop playing rapid and do other ones like bullet.
Like that story about bullet.
