What bots are recommmended for beginners?

If your goal is to learn to reduce blundering of your pieces, hardest bots you can beat will do.

As #2 says, play real people.

If you are beginner, I recommend you to play with bots that have elo under 2000

Scroll all the way down to the engine, set it to 1500.

Forget the colourful "personality" bots, they are a distraction.

Select an engine rating that beats you more often than not. Play it until you can beat it 4 times consecutively. Then increase the engine level by one, etc.

Back in the day the engine levels were 1-10. I started out at level 3 and played until I was regularly beating level 5. This took about a year but the gains in playing ability were well worth it.

"personality" bots have small advantage of marking the best rating you have beaten them with, this allows to track your progress easily
