Practice a lot and play a lot of chess games and you'll get great moves until you get smarter and smarter until you can get some brilliant moves until you're a great chess player you're a 1,000 elo rated chess player

- Starting early, ca 5-12 years old

- Loving the game

- Training hard until the twenties

- Talent

Frankly its so hard to reach the top, its surprising some people manage it.

Many try and fail.

I think study is more important than practice.

A beginner who spends 100 hours playing blitz and rapid games will learn a little bit about openings. However, such learning is basically trial and error and is very slow and inefficient.

On the other hand, A beginner who spends 100 hours studying opening and endgame principles will be in position to compete in club tournaments.

Of course, beginners should also play practice games. But the focus should be on implementing the general principles learned.
