What is the worst chess piece?
The value of a piece can change based on the position and the stage of the game.
True.

Very true. My last comment was not even about the value of a piece; although the king is the least mobile, it is also the most valued.
The value of a piece can also depend on the player, and their strengths and weaknesses. Some players may not use bishops effectively, hence calling them the "worst" piece. Others may be weakened by their rooks or even their queen.
The king is only good in specific endgames.
"Specific endgames" = all endgames.
The king is much stronger than a pawn (in an endgame). I would argue that the king is as strong as a minor piece, or may be stronger. Definitely weaker than a rook though.

To illustrate, look at this position:
Black is up a pawn, and white is "up a king", so to speak, as black's king is far from the action. White wins easily.

The knight gets +1 vote, for whatever reason, I can only vote for 5 pieces...
