What rapid elo would you consider a beginner to be?

The dictionary definition of 'beginner' is "a person just starting to learn a skill or take part in an activity". I think most people on here get confused between being a beginner and being rubbish. I'm not a beginner but I am rubbish.

As far as timed chess is concerned (namely 15min and below) I’d honestly say anything below 700 is beginner. Playing on a clock is going to make anyone and everyone hang pieces as a beginner. I would say intermediate doesn’t start until atleast 1200-1400

That was right 3 years ago because now most 1150 are stronger then most 1250 then.
Even the players around 900 now are better then most 1100 three years ago.
Three years ago anyone under 1200 were easy to beat if you played solid and waited for them to blunder, not anymore.
I don’t actually know, but I was watching a game between two 900 rated players and their play seemed strikingly stronger than what their ratings would suggest. Until one of them made a really obvious blunder lol. Idk, anyone can play a strong game I guess. Maybe lower levels are just unstable atm. My rating has been pretty stable for a while I’ve gone up in down within the same 50 points. But I also don’t play as much as I used to
