I have been doing alot of puzzles and my puzzle score is around 1300-1400. I'm almost finished with "Bobby Fischer teaches chess" book and started reading "Bobby Fischer's 60 memorable games" book. But I have been stuck at 700 rating in rapid

What do you guys recommend studying besides tactics?

You're being counter productive.

You're  studying tactics and i applaud you for taking your time based on your average solve times.   But you're also throwing all that learning down the toilet by playing speed chess.

It comes down to trying to implement into your games what you're trying to learn.  Which is next to impossible when you're moving fast...aka: No time to think.

I mainly play 15/10 min games. Are you saying i should play longer games? perhaps 30-45min?

That sounds reasonable. I easily spend 5-10 min on a single puzzle. I'll try 30 or 45 min games!

At the very least you should be playing G45, and preferably daily chess.  But obviously that is up to you.

I'll try 45 min! Considering I spend very long time on a single puzzle, i think that makes total sensehappy.png

I’m probably wrong but I would suggest increasing your understanding of the game. ChessNetwork on YouTube has a “Beginner To Chess Master Playlist” which I can’t help but suggest because it really helped me improve. You should probably listen to the higher rated players and stuff and definitely don’t play speed chess as what was already mentioned.

game report is useful but doesnt really give me why my moves are good or bad. So this kinda advice is greathappy.png
