Why do Puzzle losses have to be so harsh?

Some exaggeration but I hope this delivers my point.

If I make all correct moves (and they all must be correct moves), +5 +5 +8 +9 +11.

But... if I make one single incorrect move (especially on the first move), -11 -12 -9 -15 -15.

Even if I spend on average an equivalent amount of time thinking the Puzzle over, incorrect moves result in what seems to be a much harsher rating penalty. Why not separate rating increments and decrements into a per move basis? Why not make it so that if I make a move incorrect, and it is out of several, penalize my score by a fraction of the total rating that would have been given? This is one of the few aspects of chess.com that I consider seriously unfair.

Good observation! I too have felt this many times, but still no idea!😐

Do you solve puzzles to get rating? Stop caring about it and concentrate/spend your time to find solution.

Yes, I complete Puzzles to earn rating, and yes I do try my best with time and patience to find a solution. But this is dodging my question: why do misses in Puzzles have a comparatively stronger effect on my rating than fully correct completions?

There is a target rating to every puzzle and they seem to be targeted towards blitz speed.

You get minimum 5 points, no matter how long you think, if you get it correct. You lose, I think, the max amount if you get it wrong (not absolutely sure about this). And you gain the max amount only if you solve it quick enough (in the target time). If you solve it a little slower you might get like 9/13 points or so.

I don't know, to be honest

Man these puzzles are way too much ruthless, it just does not make sense, it took me 300 puzzles to get to 2100 and 900 to 2250 and now after spending the whole night I'm at 1800 and its 1600 puzzles....its too much , may be chess is not for me ...its better to quit.
