Hi everyone,

I started playing chess like 1 month ago, I play everyday for some hours.

Still training against bots without timer, so I have all the time in the world to think.

10 min games against players I always lose and I have like 400 rating and going down.

I see people on the internet winning against bots 2000 so easly.

Even reading books or stuff I dont know how to improve.

I feel like I would need to memorize stuff. So chess is all about memory?

Not all about memory. It is about tactics and placement. A good opening is a good start, so start with finding a good opening and working your way up.

You play chess for 1 months, and then you complain that you are not as good as players who played it for many years, every day, all day? Is this some bad joke or what?

What’s happening is you are too eager and need to remember the basics. Remember your openings make sure too look for pins and forks and consider why your opponent made the move and you should improve more!

No such thing as bad. Your performance is relative. There are always players better or worse than you are no matter what your ELO. On Chess Dot Com you should be winning about half your games no matter how good or bad you are. That's the great thing about CDC. It matches you with other why am I so bad players.

You don't really learn from playing bots.

You should learn most important principles of a chess game. That will give you a solid understanding of a chess game and you will know what to do in every position. Then, you should optimize your calculation so you don't miss tactics in your games. Your rating will skyrocket. I can help you with all of this. Message me if you are interested.

If your bad, then get 1-1 physical lessons with a teacher or grandmaster so that they can use their years of knowledge to improve your gameplay, or simpler and easier, quit.

Yes , its all about memory , as a first step you have to memorize and learn by heart a book known as MCO or modern chess openings

I looked at a couple of your games, stop trying to check your opponent’s king right away, focus on pawn structure and defending your pieces, make it your goal to find your opponent’s mistake while consistently defending your own pieces. You want to move your pieces off the back row not just to attack right away but to establish a better position to attack.

First you should try it with a System. Every move, look for threads, checks, or pieces you can take. Then you do the same thing for your opponent. Then decide, if the move is good for you or not. If you get better at this, you can try to calculate some more moves. After a time you will realize automatically which moves are good and which are bad. With this way, you can improve your calculation. When you see a pawn you can take with your queen and your opponent could take, check it anyways. Maybe you find a tactic. Now the second thing tactics. Instead of playing against bots you should solve tactics. Their really important! Often there are position which probably aren't the same, you can use them. I looked at your games and saw often tactics you missed. For example mate on h7 with queen + bishop battery. First after you improved your generic gameplay, you should try with openings, so you don't get in a uncomfortable position already after a few moves.

What if you lose anyways:

After a game you should check always (even if you win) what you made wrong or you missed and what you did good. This way you will learn to take care of such positions. As I said, you nearly always will have different games, but often things are similair!

I hope this helps you

Hey don't feel I've been playing a month non stop and, I just got to 200 the way I see it your progressing at an amazing rate just remember the basics

Top masters make it look easy to beat 2,000 rated bots, but believe me it isn't. They've been studying and playing chess their entire lives. Don't compare yourself to them and concentrate on improving your own game.
