why should you learn something else with chess?

I think learning some things with each other is more fun than learning one thing. it's no secret that chess is a boring frustrating game. it really is. sometimes, it's like the shadow of losing is on your chess no matter how hard you try. but when I go into my English practice, I see some improvements, and sometimes I don't but I see some improvements on my japanese language learning. it motivates me to keep practicing other things.
