Why was this game a draw - i clearly lost

Black has no legal move, so the game cannot continue. Yet white has not checkmated black, so white cannot claim a win.
There is an important lesson to learn from that.
Remember to always check that your opponent does not get stalemated if you end up in a situation where you are winning by that much, or a lot less, because it is easy to blunder into stalemates in a Q+K vs. K or R+K vs. K endgame if you don't watch out.
The other side of the lesson is to never resign in games played at sub-1000 level, since people blunder stalemates fairly frequently.

I was playing black and clearly lost, so why was this game resolved as a draw?
