10 Statements

Sort:
GuessWhoIAm

I have thought of a new game which is names "10 Statements".

The game is simple.

For each round, I will post 10 statements related to chess while represented with letters from a-j. Some of them could be true, some of them could be false. You would have to find out which are the true statements.

But how?

You start by posting ONE statement (it's corresponding letter is best) in which you think it's true. Once that statement is posted it can be reused. Others may post similarly too. You can only post your next statement after 2 hours, else it will not be counted. One true statement found will give you one point.

The round ends when all true statements have been found.

Note that there isn't a fixed amount of true statements for each round. The points you received will be totaled up each round.

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, and have fun! ;)

NOTES:

*Your mission is to not find a false statement, if you post one, you won't get the point.

*Once an answer is posted, you cannot change it anymore.

*Please do not explain why certain statements are false, if you mention them in a post, the other users would know.

Sorry for that.

@kleelof -- Sorry, I just saw your post after posting mine. XD

I'll think of it, but I will mostly keep this related to chess itself.

WBFISHER

i is true

kleelof

b depends on the counting system you use.

So I choose the one that makes it false. Laughing

GuessWhoIAm

Game over again. XD

@kleelof -- I'm using the official point system, which are you using?

kleelof

I count the queen as 10.5 and rooks as 5 each. No idea where I got those values from.

kleelof

HEre are several systems:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_piece_relative_value

kleelof

A quick scan reveals that NONE of them count a queen as more than 2 rooks.

kleelof

I would say the 3-3-5-10 systems are what I use.
