A photo of a chessboard i found at home

Nice.  It'd be neat to play with the pink pieces.

This could be an old black and white photo which hasn't been processed perfectly, so the white tones got a pink/sepia colouring with time (even the table looks pinky).

I have just took a picture of it with my cellphone, sorry for the poor quality. 

The funny thing is numbers and lettters, take a look at them.

no they re right. It is the old descriptive notation. We count the eight rank from white's perspective. In earlier days each player counted from own persepective so white's first rank is blacks eights and vice versa.

I doubt that Gert-Jan, descriptive notation doesn't use letters to note the files. So instead of a-h, it would have QR, QN, QB, Q, K, KB, KN, KR. This board has been printed as if White were sitting on both sides.
