What do you think of this? Is it a legitimate activity?

NO it isnt

Chess boxing is quite legitimate. Those little pieces aren't going to jump in the box all by themselves, you know.
TheOldReb
Combining chess and boxing is about as silly as putting peanut butter on bananas.

What do you mean by legitimate?  If you mean that people actually participate in this sport, then yes, it's legitimate.  If you're asking whether it's a good sport, that depends.  Personally, I think it's weird but interesting.  I'm just used to two separate groups of people:  jocks and nerds, in the real world as well as in school (except that nerds are treated better).  Now, this sport is combining them and blurring the lines.  One has to be incredibly fit, physically, to box.  A boxer has to be strong, agile, fast, and have good reflexes in order to succeed.  To play chess, one has to have mental strength - One has to have fast mental reflexes (at least for speed chess, like here), the ability to think logically, the ability to see patterns, and they must be able to adapt to different situations.  Some of the needed skills are the same, but used in different ways, and now they have to be used in both ways.  To wear yourself down physically, and then to wear yourself down mentally, again and again, requires an incredible amount of determination and stamina.  I say it's a legit sport, and cheers to those who can accomplish it.

Elvis Presley loved his peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Here's the recipe.

I don't think he played chess.

Some things just can't be improved upon. Although the concept is cool. I'd like to see stage races like a decathalon where each leg the players had to make so many moves. Then the winner of both, chess and race would be crowned.

Well.. there is a Visotskis song about Fisher playing chess against a boxer. In the song the boxer putted off his jacket and Fisher got it -- offered a draw ;)

I think it's stupid, but peanut butter and bananas ROCK! Seriously...I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Yum. My Mother also used to make a WEIRD salad out of mayo, shredded cheese and bananas. Sounds disgusted, but is actually very very good.

I heard about this recently - so weird but quite cool I think.

At the very least I think that it would be fun to do although that may just be me because I have interests in both areas.

It will probably be legitimate after it has been improved over time if it is not already.

P.S. Peanut butter and banana sandwiches are delicious.

You think that’s bad. You start a match and just before the fighting starts again you have this amazing sacrifice for the win. Its over and you know it but you don’t have the time to pull it off. So you start the fight and near the end of the round. I got kicked in the.. “lower region”. ^^ lol, try and remember your potion then.
