I'm always amazed at how sloppy chess is portrayed on TV and in films.

@ Trysts - I remember an episode of "Monk" which featured the show's obsessive/compulsive detective investigating a fictional chess Grandmaster (apparently the best in the world). They of course end up playing a game .... The Grandmaster sits at the board with the White pieces, glares at Monk and says "your move" - Doh!

Have you seen the Geico ad asking "Can you make chess on TV interesting?" using the "famous" Spanish speaking soccer(football) announcer? It's pretty funny.
