I was curious to see how players used elements from chess in their business life , social life , and everyday life.

Before I even played chess I studied many management techniques in my line of work. "Decision making under stress" was one of my fave subtopics. First you should determine "if" a decision has to be made (played) at all. Sometimes it's better to leave it as is even when everyone (your opponent) is enticing you to "make a move". Do you have all of the information necessary to make the decision? Usually determined by studying the situation (board). You often cannot know ALL of the information necessary to make the correct play, so you forge ahead acting on what you know but aware that the situation can change (opponent's response). Then, if you decide to counter, do you follow a traditional road to an accepted conservative solution OR come up with an innovative and creative solution that will turn heads?! Well, as most of here know, agressive offense is a great defense. And, let's not forget the immense amount of patience that is learned in this game. So chess fit right into my natural mindset. Love it! (even when I get clobbered) Best of luck to all!
What principles of Chess do you apply in everyday living ?
