The Assassin: Moves 1-2 squares in any direction. When moving 2 squares away, can move past other pieces. Can't capture any pieces besides the king. In any situation where he would normally cause check, it is not considered check and the other player is not enforced to save their king from it. If the other person doesn't save their king from him, you can capture the king and win the game. Also the other player is allowed to (stupidly) move their king within his attack range as a valid move. So if the other person doesn't realize they're under attack from him, you're not obligated to tell them when attacking or when they're moving their king. Just the same, if you don't realize your assassin could capture the king and win the game, it's not automatic, you have to choose to move the assassin to capture the king.
