Oh god, I certainly hope not.
Freak Accident

Everyday when I'm eating my cereal I fear I'll accidentally put one of the pawns in my mouth instead

I just literally lol'ed in the library. God damn you and your joke!

This dog:
Dogo Argentina was presented because of anorexia and lethargy; no vomit or diarrhea. The question is, whose turn is it? Answer: Black, because Black just lost its knight.
Has anyone ever swallowed a chess piece?

Oh dear, the people in the library will hate and remember you for that kind of behavior

In the library where my chess club meets we have a very serious security guard. He walks around with a very serious look on his face. I pity anyone he catches talking too loud or laughing!

Well since this thread was bumped from years ago, I will say that there are edible chess pieces (like chocolates or candies), so that you can literally "eat" your opponent's pieces as you "eat" (capture) them. I don't know if they thought through promotions or if they just have extra Queen pieces...idk, never done that.
I have seen butter cookies in the store which have chess piece designs on them though; those I do eat as they are good with a cup of coffee.

Imagine players went to play bughouse chess with chocolate chess pieces.
And I am wondering what will happen to a game if the pieces melt halfway through a game.
