Most Possible Mates-in-1?
I can count 9... The g1 queen only has one mate in 1, f1 can present 2 mates, whereas the queens on d1 and e1 has 3 a pop... Although the situation might be slightly unrealistic ;)
Thraundil I think you are right...I know the situation is unrealistic but I am just curious to see a position where the player has loads of choices on how to mate his opponent in 1 move. I could also just add a few queens to the above position as well...
As the title says, what is the board that has the most possible mate in ones? I wasn't able to find a solution with quick google or search of this website, so I am asking the forum for any insight. Below is my first attempt at an example board containing at least 48 possible mate in one combinations.
I imagine that a central enemy king might have even more possible mating combinations with 9 Queens on the board. Please post if you can come up with a better solution, or know of THE solution.
Example:
What is the most possible different mates in 1 you can have in one position? For example, this position has, I believe, 7 unique mates-in-1 (although I may be wrong). Who can get the most in one position? Thanks!
