The New Yorker ran a caption contest for this cartoon. The three finalists have already been selected. They are:

  • This can only end in a draw
  • Did you hear the one about the bishop and the queen?
  • I suggest that you back up slowly two paces and take one step to the side

You can vote until 11:59pm ET tonight  . I initially thought that the first was the only choice but if you read the third in a John Wayne voice, it gets better.
