PLEASE TEST MY VARIANTS

I'm an American English teacher in China. In my spare time between classes I like to work tinker with Chess variants. I created a large list 20 pages long and the one thing that bums me out is I have no way to test them to see how they would function/perform in a real game. Even if I had someone to play with I don't have much time to actually play a game. My hope is that some of you might be willing to try it yourselves and tell me how it went. I would greatly appreciate it! When I made these variants my goal was to make them different from the pieces they replaced not necessarily stronger.

1.(Queen) Sorceress/Medusa= Cannot capture, but moves as a standard Queen. Instead of capturing enemy pieces they are immobilized and cannot move or kill while within her range.(If they could be killed if she were a standard Queen)

2. (Queen) Iron Queen= Acts as a standard Queen. Can only capture enemy King or be captured by an enemy King.

3. (Bishop) White Rose= Moves/captures two squares diagonally and as a standard rook 1 square. W.R. may instantly move to a square adjacent to a friendly bishop ranked piece or a crowned piece.

4. (Knight) Teutonic Knight= Moves as a Standard Knight, captures as a standard King. Pieces more than 2 squares away cannot capture the Teutonic Knight.

5. (Rook) Gonfalonier= Moves/captures as a standard Rook 3 squares. Cannot be captured by attacks directly to its face. (The face can be rotated any direction at the end of the player’s turn after they have moved the Gonfalonier.)

6.(King) The Bishop of Rome= Moves diagonally forward 1 square or as a knight backwards but cannot capture. adjacent friendly ranked pieces are temporarily “blessed” (“blessed” pieces can move/kill diagonally any number of free spaces.) Adjacent pawns are promoted to“Swiss Guard” (crowned Pawns)

7.(King) Caesar= Moves/captures as a standard rook 1 square. If you capture an enemy piece during your turn. You can make an extra non-capturing move. (Extra move cannot be used on the king.)

8. (Bishop/Rook/Knight) Princess= Moves/captures as a standard King. Adjacent friendly pieces are temporarily “Crowned.” (If the Player takes the Princess off the board it can be returned to any square on the board as a standard King. Only if their king is captured via checkmate.

9.(Bishop/Rook/Knight) Prince= Moves/captures as a standard king. Adjacent friendly pieces are temporarily “Knighted.” (If the Player takes the Prince off the board it can be returned to any square on the board as a standard King. Only if their king is captured via checkmate.

I have over 20 pages worth of variants even for pawns. I look forward to your thoughts if you have time to test any of these. Thank you!
