Progressive Chess

I noticed recently that there has been some buzz about variants here on the board, so I thought I'd introduce Progressive Chess to those of you who have never heard of it.  I wrote an article about how the variant is played, which can be found here:

Thanks, Chess.com!  Cool

Interesting, I like the modifications to what I used to play as progressive chess.

Piece can't move twice. Check or capture ends turn and resets move count.

Wouldn't want to play a computer in it, mostly because when you start mucking with the rules in this manner, humans don't get it as quick.

It would be a cool project to prove who wins.

It sure does help to pass the time, I can tell you that!

I agree, though; the second a computer learns it I sure don't want to have any part of playing it lol!

This is really great. My friends and I have messed with TONS of variant ideas, a few of which had multiple-turn "settings" like that, but never did we have the idea of it being "progressive" like you said. Very cool. Definitely will try it.

Also, you should go ahead and post this same topic over on the "Chess960 & Other Chess Variants" Forum Board.

reminds me of wild 5 -- I think that was proven a win for player 1

Really skewed the wild ratings on the old aics%.

The same piece cannot move twice in a turn.  :)
