Maybe everybody knows it, but I still find it interesting - The riddle of the 8 queens. The aim is putting eight chicks on the chessboard that none of them is able to capture each other. there are lots of solution, you can find them on the internet, but it is more exciting to find out on your own

NOTE:

This is actually very easy for anyone who sees this as a task, just think first, there are 8 ranks and files, so obviously only one queen per file and one per rank.  After that, you can just place them where they are on a different diagnal.  But like cuendillar said, it's really easy with a fairly simple algorithm.

The key is Knight moves: Place the queens so if one was a knight it would defnd the other.
