Im trying to win against a pawnless Houdini. He can develop his pieces quick, but c'mon.. no pawns should help me overcome that.

Lost another couple games. Finally I at least drew against Houdini. This must be winnable, but everytime I get pushed in a corner. I cant develop, he takes a piece and thats the beginning of the end..

I did it :) At some point I was -5.xx and I thought I was going down again. But eventually I could build up the pressure and force trade offs.

Houdini is just beating you tactically. Also you are not develpoing your pieces in the opening and are playing moves like h3 and a3 that don't do anything for your position.

Since you are taking so long to develop Houdini is able to quickly find holes in your position even though you have lots of pawns.

Indeed, in both games I did those moves. Looking back they are sloppy games.. It took me about 10 times, played pretty quick as those pawns should break through one time! It was nice to see how houdini used the pieces. Often I didnt dare to castle because he rips those corners apart. But maybe that was due to my slow opening..

1 question, how do you play a custom game? Look interesting enough ;D

You can download houdini 1.5 and Arena from chess.com. Open houdini with arena and choose 'set up a position', the icon with the board + blue arrow. Set up the position that you want. Then you can let him play for one side, or both sides.

Here's a crazy game where Houdini plays himself. In this game he sometimes had to think long, then a serie of 'no brainers' (to houdini), and  then had to think for some time again.
