Not the only way and that is one tiny reason why this "noble little game" ...

About ummm... 20 years ago, I played in a small, private round-robin tourney.. The more stoned, the better I was playing... But I had to rely more on intuition than calculation xD

I won, I even beat the guy who was teaching me chess, and he was totally sober, though the fumes possibly had affected him :P

It was very enjoyable!! Cool
