***********THIS POST ACTUALLY CONTAINS 2 SUCH GAMES, THE SECOND IS POSTED FURTHER DOWN, AND IS HIGHLY RELEVANT TO THE THEME ***************

Hey, just wanted to share this latest live game win (I'm trying to pump my blitz rating slowly back up since the recent 'wipe-outs' on chess.com) as white.

Slowly, slowly I'm expanding on the lines of play for the queen pawn opening, and have been surprised and pleased by the at times devastating results it can yield.

The following game reflects, though in a different than usual sequence, many of the common themes I'm noticed when using this opening:

I think 19. ... g6 was far better now that I get a chance to look it over further... any other inaccuracies ? I'm sure they are there, but sometimes when it is a win of one's own, there is a 'selective filter' that seems to convieniently overlook errors that were made during play.

I'm not trying to fool myself, only to enjoy and improve; so any other insights or similar games with similar lines of play or attack would be most welcomed.

Thanks.

19... g6 doesn't get out of check. :\

I apologize - that was a typo - I was of course reffering to move 15, not 19..

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Yes, his pawn grab on b2 alternative allowed for the devastating initiative that I gained to help finish him off. I also thought that 12 ... Qxd4 was a poor choice (though I did not indicate so with the usual '?!' designation) because either my opponent forgot or was simply not aware of the tactical positional, common of French Defense derived games (wether through normal mainline play or through transposition, like in this game) where the often poisoned d pawn creates many opportunities to use a discovered attack tactic, which has been a delight to manifest :P  However, I would think that someone of my opponent's level would be well aware of this motif in general to be more prudent and aware of tactical situations like these, which are relatively common, or important at any rate.

Overall, after reviewing it a bit, I was pretty pleased with this game, and will of course use it to bolster my belief in this transposed French for white!

Here is the second game, this time an online one, but that used the same general approach, with equally explosive results:

(Well, 22 moves is close enough!)
