A Game I Am Very Proud Of

Beautiful game, I love such games where pieces are flying and kings are being battered!  Congrats on the spectacular win.  =]

Basel

I like games when someone leaves his material to be taken to win a situation that is sometimes the key for winning.

10. Qb3 was that move, what would taking a rook standing at a1 with nothing to do make to the black (1700+) side if his kingside was totaly broken?

you had (queen + two biships + knight) against that weak defence.

clever! I like it :D

Sorry, flipping keys weren't working. Anyway, i wasn't drunk the first time i tried to comment.   Brilliant game - I knew there was an explanation for the disparity between your grade and your actual skills: you are young and fast- improving and you chose a weapon - sorry, an opening which is a Samurai sword in the hands of a good tactician. You were awesome mate!!

In the game, 10. Ba3 is very strong. Instead of 8...Nxc3, usual is 8...Bxc3 9.d5 Bf6. Lasker played 9...Ne5.

when they d5 doesnt that just immediatly lose a pawn for white?

CoconutTiger

Very nice game of cause, but if black hadn't been so greedy he would saved the game. It is also clearly obvious he doesn't know the opening very well too. XD anyways good game regardless XD have fun playing chess

DirkDiggler

I'm amazed. You played in this game like a much more rated player. Congrats!

Decoy321

I think black shouldn't have been so greedy and should've paid more attention to the attack instead. Nevertheless great game!

sometimes in chess you just have to sit, to not be influenced psychologicaly by your opponent's rate and think a bit logical.that seems exactly what you have done. in stead of worrying about your rook on a1, you think: ' what would i need that one for anyway? if i can get my opponent to take my rook, he looses a move when i just develop and make my pieces more ready for an desicive attack on the king. those three minor pieces together with the queen are anyway enough to pull it off. you just could have started with odds of two rooks, and the game would have been identical, as you don't use your f1 rook neither! this is an example that chess is a beauty on itself and it can teach us a lot, such as focussing on the important, and don't let the details distract you

Chessroshi

No wonder I liked it so much, it was in my Learn Chess with Garry Kasparov book. It's quite a fun opening trap if you can get someone to come put their leg in it.

RedSoxFan3

No offense, but he probably underestimated you. Did you see the checkmate in advance?

Sugden1403

yes i saw the basic positionaing of the pieces and knew from his position there was no way to stop it!

TwoMove

Laughing if he was lucky, then so was Greco in 1500 whatever, it follows exactly same moves of that famous game.
