Maybe after 30. Bf1 Bxe6 31. Bxe6 Qxe5, white is just too far behind to have any chance. Black might be able to fork the rook, too.

I tried to put an annotation that I did for this game on my chessblog in July into a forum comment but it didn't work out so well.  The annotations were askew with the moves.

But this IS an awesome game.  And 17...Rxf2 is a killer move!

Even with best play it doesn't look like a draw.  I let Shredder look at it  a good long while and White is still losing.

Shredder's suggestion may be optimistic but it did pick a different 22nd move for Black as well.

Either way Morphy was awesome!

Chessmaster says Kc1 would lead to a draw, or a possible win for black
