So the clock clearly struck midnight after round 8 and the Cinderella story ended. A couple of positional errors and just completely missing 17...Ra7 lead to a fairly quick loss in the final round. Possibly 12.c4 instead of 12.Be2 was best, since I still have the Bishop to recapture and don't have to deal with the wrecked pawns if Black trades Queen's.
All told, finished with a score of 5 1/2 out of 9 - 4 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws.
