queen trade in the opening denotes a very early end game strategy for both sides. i think my opponent failed to realized this principle in coordinating his pieces and in choosing his next moves.

I'm an adept of the Ponziani myself, and I realize black had great chances of falling in trouble once the moves' choice was not accurate from the very beginning. However, after 6...dxe5 it was a 50% loss, as that stolen tempo was crucial of maintaining a workable board.
